Česká Televize just announced its 8 finalists for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. Here is an overview of the eight songs. Welcome to Eurovision This Month! This is your update of December 2018!

Broadcasters all around Europe and beyond are gearing up for their Eurovision selection shows! In less then two and a half months we will know all of the competing songs!

The first national final of this year took place in Albania. Jonida Maliqi won and will fly the Albanian flag in Tel Aviv.

Srbuk was announced as the Armenian hopeful for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. Cyprus has announced Tamta! She will sing the song ‘Replay’ in Tel Aviv.

The 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place in Minsk this November, and a few weeks later it was announced that the winning country Poland will host the next edition of the contest!

Welcome to Eurovision this month. This is your update of November 2018!

Portuguese broadcaster RTP has won the Eyes & Ears Award for the Eurovision 2018 ‘All Aboard’ campaign!

The Eyes & Ears Awards are awarded to outstanding design, promotion & digital achievements. Congratulations RTP!

The 2018 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was won by Roksana Węgiel from Poland. Her song Anyone I Want Te Be got the most points from the online voting. Angélina from France came second. Jael from Australia ended up in third place. For the first time ever, Kazakhstan and Wales participated at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. It was the first time in the history of the contest that Poland managed to win the trophy.

42 countries will participate at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv next May. All 42 countries were also present in Lisbon earlier this year. Unfortunately, Bulgaria will not take part in the competition.

Eurovision This Month: October 2018

With just over 200 days until the Grand Final, the slogan of the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv has been revealed… Dare to Dream. The slogan was announced by Jon Ola Sand, the Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest. Theme artwork to support the slogan and the list of participating countries will be revealed at a later date.

Sad news from Latvia this month. Valters Fridenbergs, who represented Latvia in 2005 with The War Is Not Over as part of the duo Walters & Kasha, passed away aged 30. On behalf of the entire Eurovision Family, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to Valters’ family and friends.

Earlier this month, Australian broadcaster SBS launched the first ever national selection contest to select the artist and song to represent the country in Tel Aviv in May. Songwriters have until Sunday 4 November to submit their songs via https://sbs.com.au/eurovision.

Welcome to Eurovision this month! This is your update of September 2018!

On the first of September, the new Eurovision season officially started as from that moment on, all songs publicly released are potential Eurovision entries. Which artist would you like to see performing next year?

The 2019 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Tel Aviv! The EBU announced the city, dates and venue together with host broadcaster KAN in the beginning of September. The grand final will take place on the 18th of May.

The YouTube Channel of the Eurovision Song Contest has made it too the shortlist of the Lovie Awards in the ‘Events and live broadcasts’ category. The lovie awards are often referred to as the European Oscars for digital work.
